Mompiana is the new project of the pianist, arranger and composer Lluís Vidal based on the music of the twentieth century Catalan composer Frederic Mompou. Vidal works with his trio (David Xirgu and Massa Kamaguchi) in this new recording and live performance where also features Dave Douglas, one of the most important and original American musicians to emerge from the jazz and improvised music scene of the last decades, and Perico Sambeat, a reference in Spanish Jazz with a substantial European reputation. To be released in 2009.
